Wildfire
The Wildfire print was created to celebrate one of Australia’s rarest birds, the Glossy Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami).
Wildfire tells a story of renewal after destruction. Just as flowering gums bloom after fire, the Glossy Black Cockatoo embodies resilience and the need for protection. Designed with textile artist Eloise Short, the hand illustrated print features Glossy Black Cockatoos among wildfire flowering gums.
This limited edition is dedicated to raising awareness of conservation. Each Wildfire piece is more than a swimsuit, it is a statement sparking conversation about the Glossy Black Cockatoo and the importance of protecting biodiversity for future generations.
Why the Glossy Black Cockatoo matters
Endangered in parts of Australia
populations are declining due to habitat loss and food scarcity.
Specialist feeders
they rely almost entirely on native Allocasuarina (She-oak) trees for food. When these trees are destroyed by land clearing or fire, their food supply vanishes.
Slow breeders
females lay only one egg every two years, making population recovery slow.
Habitat specialists
they require large, old hollow trees to nest, which are increasingly scarce.
