"Being outside makes me slow down, breathe deeper and appreciate the beauty of where we live."

A little about you❣️

I moved to Australia from the UK with my family when I was 12, and we came straight to the Northern Beaches. Growing up here shaped so much of who I am, the ocean, the community, the slower rhythm of coastal life. I danced ballet throughout my childhood, so movement has always been a part of me. Eventually, that path led me back to Pilates, which has become both my part time job and a way I reconnect with myself.

Describe your dream summer day?

A dream summer day always starts with a morning beach walk and a swim. I love spending the middle of the day snorkeling somewhere calm, then finishing with a simple picnic with friends. Slow, sun-soaked and connected.

What inspired you to start teaching pilates?

My mum actually inspired me. She’s a Pilates teacher and gently encouraged me to study it for years. Once I finally stepped into the training, I realised how at home I felt. Pilates brought me back to my love for movement after stepping away from ballet, and it rebuilt my confidence, my strength and a deep sense of pride in my body. Teaching felt like a natural next step.

How has pilates shaped the way you move and feel in your body?

Pilates has completely changed the way I inhabit my body. It’s brought me back to myself, grounded, confident and aware. It’s given me a steadiness I carry into everything else I do.

How does time in nature influence your approach to movement and wellbeing?

Being outside makes me slow down, breathe deeper and appreciate the beauty of where we live. That sense of presence translates directly into how I teach and move, gentle, intuitive, and connected.

How does nature weave into your everyday life?

It’s woven into my routine from a morning swim or walk, to choosing to be outdoors whenever I can. Even five minutes outside instantly shifts my mood. It’s my way of reconnecting and regulating.

What does the Australian summer mean to you personally?

To me, Australian summer means long days that feel endless, time with friends and family, salty skin, mangos, swimming, and BBQs. It’s a season that feels expansive and joyful, the kind that stays with you all year.

Favourite corners of Pittwater or the Beaches where you go to slow down and reset?

Kiddies Corner, Taylors Point and Mackerel Beach. Anywhere quiet along Pittwater, those pockets of nature always bring me back to centre.

Moments from our shoot that really stayed with you?

So many! We had so many laughs, especially when I was in the water climbing the slightly wobbly boat ladder. The whole day felt playful and relaxed, and I loved how naturally everything unfolded.

Which SHAPES IN THE SAND pieces did you love wearing the most and why?

I absolutely loved the Wildfire one-piece. The red feels so fun and confident, and pairing it with the red hat was such a vibe. It felt powerful and feminine all at once.

Do you have a go to summer outfit or ritual for long days outside?

A comfy cotton outfit is my go-to, something breathable and easy. My ritual is simple: moisturiser, sunscreen, a hat, and a gentle walk along the beach before settling into the day.

Something people might be surprised to learn about you?

My high school 4x100m relay team held the Girls 16+ NSW CCC record for at least five years! I need to check if we still do, but it’s a fun little claim to fame.

What are you most excited for this summer?

Connecting with new and old friends, the festive season, and especially having my partner and I set up our first Christmas tree together in our flat. It feels like a really special new chapter.
