At SHAPES IN THE SAND, each piece is made with care and attention to detail. We are committed to quality, and every garment is created to the highest standard.

Exchanges

If you would like to exchange an item, we will cover the shipping cost of sending your replacement. 

Return Policy

Final Sale: Items purchased on sale or with a special promotional discount are considered final sale and are not eligible for refund, exchange or store credit. Welcome discounts are not considered final sale and are excluded from this policy.

Refunds: Full refunds are available on non-sale, full-priced items only. Items must be returned within 14 days of receiving your order.

Exchange or Store Credit: We are happy to offer an exchange or online store credit if your preferred item is unavailable. Credit notes are valid for 12 months.

Return Processing Time

Once your return has been received, please allow 3–5 business days for processing. We always aim to handle returns as quickly as possible, and this timeframe allows us to inspect your item and arrange your refund or exchange smoothly.

Please note that refunds may take additional time to appear in your account depending on your payment provider.

Condition of Items

Items must be returned in original condition, unworn, unwashed, and with all tags attached.

Once tags have been removed, returns will not be accepted.

Returns must be lodged within 14 days of receiving your order for Australian orders, and within 25 days of receiving your order for international orders.

For hygiene reasons, swimwear must be tried on over underwear and the protective hygiene liner must remain in place.

We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet these conditions.

Faulty Items

Every garment is carefully checked before shipping. If you receive a faulty item, please email us within 14 days of receiving your order.

Once assessed, we may offer:

Replacement: A replacement in the same style, if available
Alternative Item: An alternative item of similar value
Refund or Store Credit: A refund for full-priced items, or store credit for sale items

Capsule Collections

As our capsule collections are produced in small, limited runs, we cannot guarantee the availability of specific sizes or styles for exchange. If your preferred item is unavailable, an online store credit will be issued instead.

To help extend the life of your garment, please follow the care instructions provided.

Pre-Orders

Pre-orders cannot be cancelled. Each pre-order is produced in small quantities to minimise waste and support responsible production. By placing a pre-order, you are securing a piece made specifically for you.

Return Postage

Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer. Please ensure your return parcel is prepaid and, where possible, insured to protect against loss or damage.

Once we receive your return, we will email you to confirm that your exchange, refund or store credit has been processed.
